Chapter 2: シリトリ 「shiritori」

悪い知らせ!僕は今年の建国記念の日のパレードに参加しなければならないよ。この機会は確かに珍しいですが、毎週の土曜日は練習があって、とても忙しいですよ! (シンガポールの建国記念の日は8月9日です) (ーー;)

今日は母の日ですね。昨夜に家族といっしょうに晩御飯をたべた、母の日を祝った。行ったレストランの名前は「Tsui Hark」だとおもっています、よく覚えないね。そのレストランの料理は上手よ、おいしかった! ^^;

そうですね。。。先週はxxxHolicエピソード5を見ました、それから何か新しいゲームを習いました。そのゲームの名前は「シリトリ」、日本語の言葉のゲームだから、日本語で説明しないね。でもアニメを見る時、そのゲームは面白と思っていました、機会があった時、「シリトリ」を遊びたいんですよ!おたのしみに! (*^_^)

Ahhh, finally found the time to post something again.Yesterday’s NDP rehearsal sure was dreadful, even though I was only watching from
the stands.Could see the mess that everything was in,haha.Yeah,
not to mention the super long wait for the bus to arrive in order to bring us back to camp *groan*

Celebrated Mother’s Day in advance last night with dinner together with my family and some relatives at the Tsui Hark (might have spelling error) Restaurant located at the Singapore Swimming Club last night. The food was rather good, had stuff like mixed meat platter,
poached prawns, stewed boneless spare ribs, pepper chicken with
honey peas and other stuff.Almost fell right asleep as soon as I
reached home, must’ve been really tired from Guard duty and
watching the rehearsal. XD

Anyway, was watching episode 5 of xxxHolic last week, where
Watanuki and Mokona played this interesting word game called . . . *drum roll* . . . shiritori! It’s this game where you start of with
the word ”shiritori” and using the final kana syllable, you have to
form another word. For example,Player A starts off with ”shiritori”,so Player B will have to form a word starting with the last kana, which is ”ri” in this case. After he forms a word, say, ”ringo” (apple),
Player A will follow using ”gomi” (rubbish) for example and both
players will take turns alternatively.

The word shiritori itself means ”taking from the bottom”. Here’s a
list of the basic rules taken from wikipedia:

  • Two or more people take turns to play

  • Only nouns are permitted

  • A Player who plays a word ending in the mora N (ん) loses the     game.

  • Words may not be repeated.
  •

  • Phrases connected by no (の) are permitted, but only in those     cases where the phrase is sufficiently fossilized to be considered     a word.

  • Would love to give the game a shot, maybe we could all play it once at least, would surely be fun! :D

Been feeling like buying a guitar recently too, just to play around and maybe learn a little from those willing to teach, haha. Not too sure which model to get yet though . . .
