KURIKINTON FOX

For frequent browsers of streaming video sites, such as YouTube and Google Video, the words " Canon in D, Guitar, Rock, Electric" might just ring a bell . . . of a mysterious guitarist, such as Funtwo, who played a pretty neat cover of Canon In D's rock version. Whilst his true identity has already been revealed, there can be no doubt that the veil of secrecy shrouding people with hidden online personae does contribute to their appeal.

In a previous post on Haruhiism, I mentioned that 「One particular scene which I enjoyed was a "Live" performance by Haruhi during one of the school's festival」. This was not just due to the superb animation, but also largely because I enjoyed the 2 songs presented. Really. Thus, while doing random song-related searches, I came across a talented guitarist who came up with alternative instrumental versions of the songs. On the net, he's only known as Kurikinton Fox, and by viewing the videos on his site, it isn't really hard to figure out the source of his alter ego's name. For someone playing leisurely, he sure puts in a lot of effort into some of his videos, at times utilizing certain video editing skills in order to combine say, 2 leads and a bass together, kinda' cool actually. Here's the link to his website :

For those able to read Japanese, some of the posts on his blog makes for good reading/laugh. Do Enjoy!

And moving on, I've managed to catch 'Death Note' on the big screen shortly after it was released here. After surviving through the initial slow build up, I was rewarded with a rather well-paced and exciting storyline, especially since I had already forgotten most of the earlier events from the manga. Just wished that they could've planned a different story for the movie so that L wouldn't *** in time to come. Ah well. Eagerly awaiting the arrival of 'Death Note: The Last Name', which would probably open around the 28th of December. At least Misa's kinda' cute in the movie w.

Another show I managed to catch was . . . "The Prince of Tennis Live Action"! Every bit as dramatic and unrealistic as shown in the trailer in the previous post! At least some half decent effort was put into creating the special effects - some of the moves such as Tezuka's Zero Shiki Dropshot and Fuji's Hakugei were rather cool, though I felt that the movie would've benefitted more if the storyline wasn't so rushed. Another point I can't believe I didn't notice earlier: Both Sayuri Iwata and Shimatani Hitomi are in the movie too! (Though with rather meagre roles)

Ending off here this time! Ciao! (And to those who managed to find these extra text, GJ! =p)
