Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight!

Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight! is a warm hearted show set in the future, Year 2035. With rapidly declining birthrates, schools are being shut down due to the diminishing student population, resulting in low morale and students leading a rather passive school life.

Enter Amamiya Manami (Manabi-chan), a new transfer student at Seioh High School. An energetic and positive person, she proceeds to be inducted as the president of the student council which had only one other member prior to her arrival, Inamori Mika (Mikan-chan). Throughout the series, Manabi is often shown using her favourite phrase 「まっすぐゴー！」 as a source of motivation. Together with three other classmates, namely Uehara Mutsuki (Mu-chi), Etoh Mei and Odori Momoha (Momo), they proceed to inject vigor back into the lives of the students and battle to prevent the school fair from being cancelled.

The show has its share of comical moments as well as touching scenes, as the characters come to appreciate their bond of friendship over the trials which await them. Hardly tear jerker material, yet do not be surprised if you end up feeling for the characters and shedding a tear or two.
