DEATH NOTE: Premiering 19th October in Singapore

Synopsis from ANN:

Yagami Light is a brilliant college student who, one day, finds a notebook simply titled "Death Note". Within the book is a list of rules and details regarding the use of the "Death Note". When he realizes the power he holds, he decides that he would make over the world, revamping it into a better place by killing those who do others harm. He has been nicknamed by the police "Kira".

L, a brilliant detective who lives shrouded in secrecy, rises from the shadows and puts his life on the line trying to capture Light. Both L and Light believe themselves on the side of Justice, and the two match wits trying to show exactly which of them is "good" and which of them is "evil."

Trailer From YouTube:

This should be a rather interesting watch . . . considering the fact that they chose to bring in Death Note while omitting others such as NANA, which starred Mika Nakashima. Oh well, at least another movie to look forward to, so I can't really complain.

Another "anime to live action" movie which was released in Japan but not shown here in Singapore is "The Prince of Tennis". This would definitely be more exaggerated since a lot of the special moves in the manga/anime aren't feasible in the good ol' real world, thus it could make an interesting or humorous watch should it be released. Ah well, at least they tried!
