The Girl Who Leapt Through Time 「時をかける少女」
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo) is a Japanese animation film which was released in 2006. It has won several awards and was recognised as 'Animation of The Year' at this year's Tokyo International Anime Fair.
The movie's protagonist is 17-year-old Makoto Konno. One day, she accidentally obtains the power to travel back in time, discovering it only when she was involved in an accident at a Train Crossing. Doubting her ability initially, she then sets out to change her grades for the better and avoid personal mishaps from occurring.
However, she soon realises that tinkering with past events may lead to adverse consequences on the future, and in order to put things right once more, she has to rely on her powers to the best of her abilities.

The animation was pretty decent, and although certain scenes could have been shortened, I felt that the overall pace of the film was good. It has its fair share of comedy thrown in, coupled with several sad and touching scenes. The soundtrack helped to enhance the different atmospheres, and I especially liked both the Insert ('Kawaranai Mono') and Ending ('Garnet') songs, sang by Oku Hanako.
A 9/10 rating from me, although I might be a tad bit bias there. On a side note, TokiKake is now showing in Cathay Cinemas in Singapore, after opening on the 21st of June. (>^.^<)
